I should have named this post : I loath pants fitting.
Je devrais plutôt appeler ce post / Je déteste ajuster les pantalons

Here's why :

This is what I got after 4 muslins and hours of reading everything I could grab on the internet concerning pants fitting.
Voilà le résultat obtenu après 4 toiles et une lecture assidue de tout ce que j'ai pu^trouver sur la toile concernant l'ajustement des pantalons.

Maybe somebody more talented than me will be able to read in my pants wrinkles. If that is the case please tell me what you can see.
Peut-être que quelqu'un plus expert dans le déchiffrages des plis pourrait-il faire un diagnostic. Si oui ne vous en privez pas.

As far as I am concerned I would say that my aging buttocks are to be blamed.
Pour ce qui me concerne, je reporte la faute sur mon postérieur vieillissant.

List of hypothesis :
Low derriere ?/ Fessier affaissé
Flat seat ? Fesses plates
Heart shape bottom ? Basssin en forme de coeur.
Large inner thigh ? Intérieur des cuisses développé.
Too long inseam ? Couture intérieure jambe trop longue.
The way my legs angle ? L'angle selon lequel mes jambes sont reliées à mon bassin.

(Je trouve que la traduction en français est particulièrement comique)

The more I think of it, the less I am able to find an answer. I decided that these pants will be good enough to be worn as they are realy wanted.
Plus j'y pense et moins je peux répondre à ces questions.

Despite what you might think I still like those pants.
The overall line is fine IMO.
En dépit de ce que pourriez croire ce pantalon me plait tout de même.
La ligne a une bonne allure.

I like the slim legs and they are very comfortable to wear.
J'aime l'étroitesse des jambes et le pantalon est très agréable à porter.

They have nice pockets though the pocket bags are a bit on the small side.
Les poches sont sympas bien qu'un peu petites.

I been working hard on the crotch. It has been lengthened, lowered and scooped so much that I did not want to alter it anymore fearing that it would ruin the pants altogether.
Je me suis donnée beaucoup de mal pour la fourche. Je l'ai allongée, baissée et taillée tant et si bien que j'ai renoncé à y toucher davantage par crainte de tout gâcher.

In fact, the crotch is not Burda's but one I drafted following Leena's Pattern Drafting Lessons 
En fait j'ai dessiner la fourche en suivant un tuto trouvé sur : Leena's Pattern Drafting Lessons 

Here the muslin I got : Voici la toile que j'ai obtenue.

I added 1 cm on sides seam allowances and morphed the pattern with burda's pattern ans I could not get a proper leg design. I thought this would be the easiest way to accomodate my large tummy and I am realy happy of the outcome of the front in the abdomen zone.
J'ai ajouté un 1cm aux coutures de côté et j'ai plaqué la fourche sur le patron Burda. J'ai pensé que ce serait le meilleur moyen d'ajuster le devant pour laisser toute la place à mon ventre et le suis très satisfaite de ce côté là.

What I did not get was how to transform the darted waist into a shaped waistband.
Ce qui m'a donné du mal ça a été de transformé les pinces de la ceinture en une ceinture en forme.
What I ended up with was way too big and I had take in at the center back to get a good enough fit. The fact that I was too lazy to stabilized the waist did not help.
J'ai obtenu quelque chose de beaucoup trop grand que j'ai dû reprendre dans le dos. Le fait que j'ai eû la flemme de soutenir la taille n'a rien arrangé.

Talking about waist, I chose to add some fun to the black with a constrasting waistband using some leftover of a Michel Miller quilt fabric that I love and did not know what to do with it.
En parlant de la taille, j'ai voulu égayé un peu le noir en choisissant des restes de tissu patch que j'adore pour la ceinture intérieure.

That's enough for today concerning my quest for perfectly fitted pants. I know I still have a long way to go and that's it's all about trial and error but I must say that sometimes I wish I had a passion for quilts instead of garments sewing.
Voilà, c'est assez concernant ma recherche du pantalon parfaitement ajusté. Je sais qu'il me reste encore beaucoup de chemin à parcourir pour atteindre ce but et que ce n'ai qu'à force d'essayer que j'y parviendrai (peut-être). Parfois je préfèrerai me passionner pour le patch plutôt que pour la confection de vêtements.
